No point changing the coach now, who is available?
However I would be lining someone up for next year, possibly Tony Smith
Ive never been a big fan of Mac as we have yet to go through a season with him when we have been consistant, before anyone says last year I will remind them that we still lost 8 games in a team that should have dominated the league in the way we did in 2004

Make it clear the job is available there'll be plenty of interest & it would also give the new HC the rest of this season to assess where to cut/recruit (although it should be obvious).
Id also say it would give more time to lift the squad confidence/morale wise as well as impliment new systems rather than trying to do it in 1 pre-season.

Changing the coach will not fix the injury list (currently 10 first teamers?) or improve form, or cut out human errors. I do not know whose fault is was not to replace Sinfield, but I suspect GH more that BM, as it was this mistake that has proven to be as costly as the injuries.

Form does return eventually and Mac has earned the right to have the time to reap that benefit as will the team when all the injured return. With all the criticism I feel sure he is working on using this to build up the team spirit.

Wont improve form? Tell Wakefield that!
Cas have had injuries ,as have ST's ,Wigan etc but ALL at some point have adjusted to not only be organised but compete & win games.
Whilst i cant speak re-Salford we never looked like beating Wakey HKR Wigan Widnes or Dragons plus once Cas came back at us the writing was on the wall is all that down to injuries i dont think so.
Whilst i agree GH is as responsable as anyone re-not replacing Sinfield but id add that Mcdermott knew how much he relied on him & JP as both lead the team on/off it & as is becoming more apparent did plenty of the coaching as well.
I'll also add EVERY Coach has a shelf life in RL as do players & imo now is the right time for a clear out upstairs & a spring clean squad wise.

Really? I think most thought we'd have a fight on to make top 4 let alone be going for 1st, especially in the same style of 2004. The top clubs have been fairly evenly matches for a while now, the last time their were clubs who should've (and did) dominate were Saints and Leeds 07-09 who both were clearly well ahead of the rest.

McDermott linked with the KR job for 2017. It wouldn't surprise me with the way we are playing and Leeds allegedly coach shopping. The only problem is a pay of 3 years to McDermott unless he himself takes another job and then we go looking.

From what I hear they have allready agreed to part ways at the end of the season. McDermott will be paid to the end of the season.

Last year we had people moaning at BM and the club for not giving youngsters a go early enough and developing them in the first team.

We now have those same people wanting to sack the coach and questioning the club because those same youngsters who should have been given game time aren't good enough and shouldn't be in the first team.
