With all our cap space, quota spots and Marquee etc if we can't sign a good first 17 fB,prop and hb that's worrying.

Yep, I agree we'll need a prop. Just think that for a variety of reasons (age/motivation/likelihood of injury) I wouldn't chuck big money at Burgess. Brodie Croft, or a half of similar quality, would be a different matter.

Throwing big money at any single player is a risk.
I think if Burgess does come back to play in SL, we would be the most likely destination as he is a Leeds fan.
Depends how settled he is over there.
Let's hope he gets all nostalgic for a return home in his 30's.
Him and Croft would be statement signings.
And we would have a quota spot left for either a 7 or a 9.

The issue with Croft is he’ll require a big fee, big wage and would likely want an NRL clause in it so we could end up paying a lot for one year.

Id still do it though

I know. You're damned if you do, you're damned if you don't. That said, it's high time we rolled the dice for a change. And if that did involve Burgess, Croft, and another half or a hooker I wouldn't be complaining. Much.

I see Kyle Flanagan is reinventing himself as an interchange Hooker at the Dogs these days, having played a lot of NSW Cup recently. I wonder if we’re back in for him and the move to Manly has fallen through?

Or be explosive out of DH to generate a quick PTB. Currently, none of our 9s have either attribute, so you can understand why we were so keen on Levi.
