I don't see a centre as a priority at all. Next year we've got Newman, Macdonald as likely starters, with Simpson, Roberts, Martin as backup. Its actually a position we've got plenty of cover for. I'd far rather sign three halfbacks with one as genuine cover than another centre.

Think Miller will start at FB for Newcastle at the weekend, so a good chance to see him in action.

When are we announcing Croft and Lewis as our new half backs for next year?
It just shows how poor our recruitment has been over the years when we can`t even put a half decent halfback or winger in the team when injuries bite.

Its more junior development that's been the problem. We've had to sign the likes of Roberts, Hooley etc because there was nobody at the club anywhere near ready. I think I'm right in saying that this could be the first season since 2000 without a homegrown debutant. Maybe we should have added a squad halfback to the list for this year as well.

Alfie edgell at 1 or 6 could of got a go aswel as Sinfield.. 2 try’s in last years academy grand final, talented young player…but let’s play Martin in the half’s instead because everybody can play everywhere in our coaches mind

Jamal Fogarty set to hit the open market apparently. He’d be exactly what we need at 7 imo.

We could do with a quality centre imho. No point having a decent winger with Newman at centre as can’t pass/ won’t pass. Releasing a winger is top priority for a centre for me. I’d honestly look how Newman go’s as a running FB….
Hardaker couldn’t pass and made a good FB….

You'd hope GH/RS would be looking at all the available HBs tho

As it currently stands next year's current team!

Miller ( potentially good)
Olipherts ( no comment needed)
Newman ( potentially brilliant injury prone won't pass)
Macdonald ( excellent)
Handley ( solid winger)
Myler ( not worked before)
Sinfield ( not ready physically)
Oledski ( Needs to recapture form)
O Connor ( Great attitude not top class yet)
Holroyd ( will only get better)
Martin ( not played 2nd row all year)
Gannon ( potentially great needs to kick on)
Smith ( Good player but needs to just play 13)

Johnaon ( not progressing)
Sangare ( doesn't play his size)
Lisone ( looks good in patch's)
Goudremand ( solid but uninspiring)

Looks like there's a fair bit to do on the I comings. The above assumes Tetevano Fusitua and Bentley all leave.
We would have loads of cap but up to 5 spots in the above 17 needing an upgrade.

Given he’s only got recalled when desperate, I can’t see Smith wanting to go into the season with Olpherts as first choice. Likewise with Myler in the halves. The pack looks OK if Mik can refind some form, although assuming the next two names on that list are Gannon, Myler and Donno, we once again look short in the front row.
