Agree. The club have clearly weighed the risks and decided they are worth taking. They will have also considered the rewards : a young player, just turned 27, who was unarguably among the very best in the world only a couple of years ago. I recall Hull KR taking a similar risk on a 30 something, injury prone winger who hadn't got over the whitewash in the NRL. He couldn't stop scoring for them last year. His name escapes the memory. Might be Ryan.

If it works out he looks like just the player we need to add some pace in the team.

Meli was a liability defending high kicks. Probably the only person worse at it than Tom Briscoe. I don't personally want an overseas winger this season. Has to be a prop. We never replaced Ava.

Francis Meli was one of the greatest Rhinos of all time. Had some great games in Grand Finals for us. Please dont knock him.

Good winger ok for me as we are both light in numbers and certainly light on pace.
I am sure we can find a British prop to either make up numbers or fill in for a year. Also hopefully if we get conditioning right injuries will be less likely next year. On that subject the Cat’s conditioner has just left, he was at Leeds 10 years back wonder if he is returning?

I think most of us agree that a prop is a higher priority for next season than wing.

However Fusitu’a is the kind of quality we need to improve the side, and he’s available this year with some subsidy from the Warriors.

I don’t know that any of the available prop options are as compelling - next year might be better for props.

About the only English prop I can think of that I might be interested in is Matty English and I can’t see that happening - plus he’s more Tom Holroyd level than Mik Oledski right now.

You have a point and you'd like to think that any pre-signing medicals would be full and exhaustive...

Completely agree with this. Everyone agrees it’d be good to sign a prop, but Leeds always say they will only sign a player if they the right player and are going to improve the squad, an attitude I back 100%. David Fusitu'a certainly fits that criteria.
