Presumably the interest in Frawley (if true) is in his experience (including time in SL).

The last time we brought in a younger player from down under in the halves it didn't go too well - Lolohea (at least for us). I'm not saying this will happen again, but there are higher risks involved with younger halves. High risk, high gain, I suppose. A younger half alongside an older head might be best. We also don't want another couple of injury prone players with disciplinary issues like Austin and Sezer.

Frawley is utter gash. No idea why anyone would consider him. Have a watch of the Raiders last week. He scored a try from a couple of yards out but apart from that all he did was kick. Not a run or pass worth squat, and his lack of speed was painfully exposed in defence a couple of times. That's how I remember him when he first started at the Dogs, and he's just got slower.

That limitation got Harry Smith in the England team.

Maybe, but that doesn't make Frawley a good player. Nothing will unless they invent leg transplants.

What’s odd about Frawley, is why not offer Austin another deal for a player who is clearly significantly worse. Now I think it’s good sezer and Austin are going, but the idea should be to bring in superior players to them. Miller, Austin and Myler in the spine looks better than that spine with Frawley.

I’m wondering whether RS just can’t handle big personalities. Leeming was clearly a big influence on the group, Austin seemed to be too. Walters also appears quite sure of himself. Is a players/personality of Frawleys calibre easier for RS to manage and coach?

Sounds like nonsense to me. Why would he want to be a coach if he couldn't handle a range of personalities? We might as well cash in on Newman now if this is true

If anything the personalities couldnt handle Smith not picking them for their preferred roles (Leeming) or GH not giving out long contracts to 30 somethings (Austin). It works both ways.

Is this the same Austin who's currently struggling to get fit enough to play for Cas? In my opinion getting rid of Austin was absolutely the right decision. Whether Frawley is one of the solutions to our halfback conundrum is another matter. Given that most of our reported half back targets are not NRL regulars and the NSW games are not on the box it's hard to come to any kind of considered opinion. You'd hope our decision makers are privy to a lot more of the detail.

It sounds more like its the other way round doesn't it?

Leeming threw his toys out of the pram after being dropped as captain and not starting.

Austin has come out and said that there was/is no bad blood at all between Leeds and himself, apparently it was Widdop who gave him a call to try pursued him to help the Tigers out not a falling out with RS.
