Sorry mate but those figures dont add up. 30 man squads thats 15 players at 50% does equal anywhere near 1/5th of Super League unvaccinated.
Not everyone who peddle the "individual choice" line are against the vaccine. Im not for one. Im vaccinated but i arent going to berate people who arent. Its not law that people have to be. Its their choice. I dont understand why they wouldnt get jabbed but thats their decision.
Not sure how clubs can terminate contracts on the basis of not getting vaccinated. Like i say its not a legal requirement.
Trueman will have people chasing him in SL and possibly NRL. Hes a quality young half and there is a shortage of quality pivots in the game.
I think the termination would come from the player being unable to fulfil his contractual obligations to play, train and be available. For example if a player decided not to be vaccinated and as such wasn’t able to travel to France to play and struggled to train and thus play due to issue with close contacts and isolation then I can see a basis for a club terminating a contract. It isn’t so much termination for not being vaccinated rather termination as you can’t do what we pay you to do. Covid isn’t going to go away, it will always be here, over time we will learn to live with it. Misguided to think life will ever be how it was pre early 2020.
I fundamentally believe every person has a choice over what does or doesn’t happen to their body. If you don’t want a vaccine then don’t have one. However, there is a huge and I would say fundamental difference between you making a choice over what goes in your body and you using a platform or a position to comment on things you aren’t capable of commenting on. You can say I am not vaccinated and leave it at that, once you comment on anything beyond that then it’s just dangerous if you aren’t qualified to understand what you are talking about.
In terms of Trueman as a player, I think he is reasonable and no more. I don’t think he would cut it in the NRL and if a club did want to take a chance on him then any issues with vaccination status may put them off. I know somebody later on mentioned Pryce, for me he has an impact on the game and looks to impose himself. Trueman seems to let it flow by a little bit for me, bits of quality but not enough and doesn’t grab the game and make things happen. However all opinions isn’t it and somebody may see things I don’t.
