Unless there’s a problem behind the scenes, I’d say Trueman to Leeds is more likely than McLelland to Cas.

Neither being likely!

I agree, but was just speculating on the basis that Powell spoke highly of McLelland when he was at Cas, and that we made him an offer when he returned to RL (though apparently his wage demands were ridiculous for a kid who hadn’t played first-grade rugby).
I still think Powell would be keen to take him back, and if anyone can spot a good half back, it’s him. McLelland might be tempted to return too, given the trio of Powell, Orr and Sheridan, and how Jake Trueman has progressed into the international set-up at such a young age under their coaching.
If Cas have said that McLelland is a non-negotiable part of the deal for Gale, it might just be something that Leeds were willing to do. He’s hardly played in a poorly-performing team, so the coaching staff can’t rate him too highly. In fact, isn’t he going on loan to Hull KR for the season next year?
As I say though, it’s all speculation and purely my thoughts on what might happen, given things that have been said in the past.

I think the only reason he hasn’t played first team is because we had relatively high earners in both 6 and 7 spots. Sending Tui away resulted in us getting Lui in. Plus, the pressure has never really been off to allow a more “development” selection.

Have to say I think Callum has strengths where Myler has weaknesses, but there you go.

McLelland was also a bit rusty on return from RU I think and needed some time to re-acclimatise.

We have Agar and Burrow in the coaching set up so there should be a bit of half back knowledge at Leeds too you would hope.

Shame about the coaching ability, though...........

My only slight reservation is that this is exactly the sort of thing Cas would do.
Alternatively, Powell rates McLelland and said him and Trueman were the future national half backs. I could see him been part of the deal.

I doubt it, Leeds paid a fee to the SRU, so cannot see him being let go, not seen enough of him lately since he went to Fev but what I saw oh him before that was not that great

Heard these Gale rumours fr months and usual "reliable source" but I have hint it's bull. Rather have Truman but would have to offer Cas huge sum as his value just almost doubled after his mom against a albeit very poor Hull.

Where is the comments about a fee coming from? I posted a few months back about Gale, I think on this very thread, and about the info I was given at the time. What I was told, there was no fee, it was an agreement out of loyalty to pay back Gale from Cas, and only applied to Leeds. However I was told they would only do it if they got the man they wanted. But think they failed in that deal.

If Cas don't want a fee for Gale would that not intimate that they (Cas) have concerns about his fitness?
A 2016/2017 Gale would be lovely but what is the 2020 version of Gale going to be like after 2 years of serious injuries?

Will Gale have passed a thorough medical? Really?

Why would he not it's not like it's an injury that can't be fixed?

It can, though it's not uncommon for performance to be permanently affected. Time will tell; testing it out is a process that can't be rushed in case there's a re-occurrence. I suppose it depends where Gale is in his rehab though I've not heard anything to suggest he's yet back in full training.
