Next season we will have Merrin, ward and Martin as about first choice with mellor, Sutcliffe and cuthbo as back up. Hopefully Donaldson will stay on as well with Trout either out on loan or playing reserves. Just don't see what ferres adds to that for the wage he would likely want not to mention that we need to strengthen elsewhere.

The thing is that every £ of cap is important. Having some in the bank can really make a difference if a player becomes available unexpectedly, or if an NRL club comes sniffing round your youth talent.



Ferres has his moments but if he doesn’t take the club forward then the money should be kept for other purposes.

Agree. I don’t think he’s been quite as bad as some have said he’s been this season but I still wouldn’t keep him on. I don’t think he brings anything that can’t be got from our other options and he offers absolutely nothing in attack.

I suspect we also want to get rid of Cuthbertson, Singleton and possibly Myler, but these players are all under contract.

Id keep Lunt and Cuthbertson, Lunt will help the progree of Johnson and Cuthbertson has gone OK this season

Unless we are getting a decent 9, I would keep Lunt, he adds experience and structure around the rook and young Johnson can learn from that rather the headless chicken move.

I’m in two minds about Cuthbo, I like the bloke but is it a business move, Peteru hasn’t lived up to his size and I would cut our losses and get another big NRL prop.

Resign: Donaldson-he'll be cheap and a good rotation for our back row and can be used for reserves to help other young back rowers at club come through



Resign: Lunt( possibly)- I'd only be keeping Lunt around to help develop Johnson and fill in if injury occur but if a other good option at 9 came up who had younger legs but still good pedigree I wouldn't resign Lunt.



Release: Ferres been garbage signing and doesn't warrant a new deal although I think he will get a new deal unfortunately.



Release: Albert not done much wrong but not a top quality player and have too much rubbish in squad to be keeping average players.



Try or Sell: Cuthbertson and/or Peteru if we was gonna try go for a top class Overseas prop we'd have to free up a Quota spot and neither Cuthbertson or Peteru are in the top 15-20 props in super League now so would release either or both to get a class prop in to partner Seumanufagai in our front row.



Try and sell or release :Myler- I expect us to go with Lui and Myler in our Halves next year personally and it might turn into a good partnership but Myler isn't a halfback who's gonna win you trophies, if the Gale rumours are true them surely that's the end of Myler at Leeds. Myler has been poor overall since we signed him and wouldn't be a big miss if he left us.



Possibly sell or release: Singleton he has been one of our poor forwards for a couple of years and if Crosby is fit next year don't see why we need to retain Singleton he will be way down the pecking order and doesn't really offer much and if we do bring in another prop he has to be moved on.





Possibly try sell or release: L.Sutcliffe and L. Briscoe: the are championship standard players imo and would release them to free up cap, but they aren't on the top of the get rid of list for me as they won't be huge earners and can be used in reserves next year.



Possibly sell or release: Golding- he isn't at top of get rid of list either isn't bad cover for Walker and is a committed player when he plays, but he doesn't play so no point in keeping a player that isn't in clubs plans.

Easier said than done when still contracted for another 12 months.It would make sense to keep Lunt then you could integrate Johnson into the team.Im not a fan of the Headless one.

I've always thought Cuthbertson was just NFT as well, and our overseas were. Merrin, Lui, Martin, Seumanufagai and Peteru( because he was born in New Zealand not sure what passport he has or anything though).

Albert Vete is available to Super League clubs. I would be happy for Peteru and/or Cutherbertson to be moved on if possible. Peteru hasn’t delivered and Cuthbertson is at the back end of his career.

I’m hoping Agar’s time in Aus has yielded a list of others in the Rhyse Martin mould who have some quality but are maybe under the radar a bit.



Vete certainly plays direct and with aggression, which we need more of. Peteru doesn’t really play his size and Cuthbo is an artisan rather than enforcer.

Iv mentioned Vete before on here, think he would go very well in super league.
