| If it is true that there is some kind of unusually authoritarian culture at the club, I think most casual fans will be happy with this given the success reaped since GH took over.
That said, I'd be interested in the evidence of such a negative culture over this period, weighed against positive indicators. There are plenty of overseas players and coaches who have stayed at Leeds for prolonged spells, certainly more than have been dumped/left due to some kind of contractual fallout.
If GH is becoming a problem, fine, but who is going to come in and replace him? This will have to happen at some point... I'd just rather we don't have to go through that so soon after one of the worst seasons in the club's history, thank you.

It seems his options are diminishing by the day.
For once I agree with most of the points made by WE.
I do think, however, that GH has to be careful not to let Segeyaro off the hook with his comments that could be construed as constructive dismissal, since he's not yet breached his contract.
I think that employers should leave the door open for contracted employees to return especially in such circumstances.
There is a great danger that we end up cutting off our noses to spite our faces.
I know that there is massive distaste on here towards Segeyaro but I mainly blame his manager for turning his head.
He's still a relatively young man (25), I'd guess with a limited education whose manager has bulled him up for his (Ayoub's) own ends - this seems to be an all too familiar tale.

| Quote William Eve="William Eve"Is there that many players worth losing in today's climate? We haven't produced much talent for years. The threat from the NRL or Union has always been over-exaggerated.
If it was that great at Leeds, Segeyaro would be looking forward to returning for the remaining two years of his contract and possibly beyond. He doesn't like it here, he never has liked it, so it's time to move on quickly for both club and player.
I've always had my doubts about signing him in the first place. There was a reluctance on his part to join the club from the very beginning, as if he was hanging around for an offer... any offer from any NRL club... last season. He was that desperate to stay in Australia.
His positive words about joining Leeds and how great it is over here is not necessarily lying. It is typical of the mindset of someone who is desperate to convince themselves they've made the right choice when in fact, at the time, it was Hobson's Choice which is no choice at all, unless retirement was an option.
Time to end this dreary confrontation by the club and get on with Plan B, whatever that might be. We've seen this all before and we all know how it ends.
'"
Think you've read the situation pretty well there.

| So let me get this right....
- Segeyaro pulls the sick card, with the Sharks waiting in the wings with an offer
- Leeds say they're not going to release him and demand a fee
- Sharks say 'ok, well we can't afford and won't pay a fee'
- Leeds next response is 'well he's not welcome back now anyway' and have terminated his contract???
Good move...... I'm pretty sure the legal eagles out there will have a field day - Leeds are now effectively making it impossible for Segeyaro to make a living as a rugby league player.... Can't see that being held up as acceptable in Court.
'Undisclosed fee' all around....

| Not read anywhere that Leeds have terminated his contract? I would think if no deal is sorted out with another club there is little Leeds can do until he fails to show up in January.

| I reckon if he came back the club would make a statement with him saying something long the line of
I am apologise to the Leeds fans to the club and their players I had been over come with emotions of being reunited with my family and seeing the surroundings where I grew up that made me feel I couldn't leave home again I fell in to my Old habits listen to people I thought was my friends that got me in to The situation that had me playing reserve grade at my old club the Panthers but now I'm here and I'm back here I want to concentrate on my career first thing I need to do is making it up to the boys and this great club to have me back and Leeds fans for hopefully they can give me the second chance so I will not let them down and we can push on for Silverware
And with some good performances the fans will let him off the hook and just say he's young and he made a mistake

| This was the point I made earlier.
Segeyaro now has a choice.
He stays in Australia and can`t play for anyone and gets no money
Or he comes back to Leeds to fulfill his contract.
Leeeds say we don`t want you and he cries foul and constructive dismissal we have breached our contract.
He can return by the 3rd Jan and apart from saying he didn`t want to ocme back he has had a change of heart.
Where does that leave us?
It does seem a stupid thing for GH to say we don`t want him.

This article [urlhttp://www.foxsports.com.au/news/all-nine-sydney-clubs-pass-on-hooker-james-segeyaro-and-his-whopping-425000-transfer-fee/news-story/35a2258c1303994cfd972fc1975dc8a3[/url states it's understood Leeds terminated his contracted when he formally advised he wasn't coming back, though Leeds have obviously kept his registration.
I'm not usually one to bag GH, but I fhink he has shot his load a bit early and far too publicly on this one.

| That's poor journo work. If the contract has been terminated, then there is nothing to sell as the relationship between player and club is ended. I'd be surprised if GH were daft enough to terminate a contract like this, and even more so if he were to publicise it. I'm struggling to believe that article.

I'd also be surprised, as there is no way they could have followed due process in that time. Having said that though, they've still got his registration, and I would guess it is that what holds the value in any transfer fee - but if they have terminated his contract, it most certainly weakens their position, as does publicly stating that we no longer want him anyway.

Yeah i thought it was a bit fishy myself. GH made our position clear yesterday in a club released statement without ever stating Segeyaro can't ever come back, yet just later gets in contact with some Aussie journalist to say we won't accommodate him. Why was this piece of information solely apparently explained to some Australian journalist only?

| IF his contract has been cancelled, the obvious inferences are that a) we need too free up cap space to sign a replacement and b) whatever fee we finally demand won't be sufficiently prohibitive to prevent JS moving on.
