Well the wheels have fallen off completely now, but I don't think these results will influence signings much. I reckon that we have a couple signed up already. The only one we won't have sorted is a replacement for Nene.
We know a number of the first team that played these last two games either won't be here next year or won't be in the first choice 17, and our spine will be completely different. But none of the senior players have shown a lot of pride in their own performance or any hint of leadership - including the sainted Cameron. That shouldn't be forgotten either.
Unless we have some exciting signings we are likely to see a big drop in crowds next year. Regardless, Smith is going to be under all sorts of pressure. The team will be largely his, including key positions, and he'll start next year under a huge question mark from many fans. Even if he is seen as the long term bet by GH, I just can't see him having any leeway for a slow start.
