Gary has given Rohan enough rope now and the players this last two weeks have put the loop around his neck too many of this seasons issues all point to the coach and his manner is disrespectful towards the fans who pay their hard earned to support the club.

I don’t think many would disagree with that. Some would just rather change coach now. Proof will be in the pudding early 2024 - or before then if there is a senior player revolt. Personally I think we need to see this change through under the same hand because we’ve spent 8 years going from pillar to post and made zero progress.

If there is a player revolt in early 2024, there will be a core group who have been around since Agar if not before (Oledski, Cam Smith, Handley, Martin, Myler etc). They have to be careful that the next coach does not see them as the common denominator in our never ending transition... That is surely where the axe will fall next, plunging us ever more surely in to yet more transition.

But it hasn't come to that yet. Let's see a) how the recruitment pans out, and b) whether Smith can make a better fist of the next pre-season.

The option of c) replacing Smith is still eminently more risky right now. If another coach comes in and wants to replace half the squad, we will be right back to square one, because it will disrupt the culture in-season and probably take at least two more seasons for the new coach to get the first team he wants.

Would Wane want to remove half the squad straight away if he were to come in after say 6 games next season?

If he would work with what he has for the rest of 2024, he has to be the back up plan.

I think we need a new coach for next season. So he has some cap to spend and a pre-season to work.

I’m sure Wane for example would want rid of some of these but a good coach seeks to maximise what he can from all the players he has got. Smith has now exited 17 players I believe and brought in players who overall are worse. His man management abilities look pretty woeful from the outside.

Coaches need to get more out of players not just say I want a different 30 players.

Could wane get an aggressive tune out of Sangare for example.

I think part of the disruption I down to this whole passive defence approach.

Last week v Wigan we played with virtually no aggression. Dupree started playing up and after about 60 minutes, Oledski put in a fair but hard tackle on him. He did it out of frustration. He and the rest should have been doing it from the start but we never do.

Wane could easily get some aggression from Holroyd, Mik Lisone, Bentley, McDonnell and a new forward.

I don’t believe many forwards would want to play this soft game we do.

I also believe that Caddick needs to step in and remove a failing aged CEO and the coach from this week or a week on Monday.

The latest Gh Yorkshire post article is just more guff from a BS riddled double glazing salesman
