We must be in a bad way as we're being patronised by ex-players. Mitch Garbutt in the YEP is sure we'll come good. When the opposition come out with this stuff after they've stuffed us, you know we're in trouble.

Walker and Smith out for a few weeks, and all the other injured players are at least 4 weeks away from coming back.

Furner also confirmed Trout, Newman and Golding will play against Workington.

What's happening with our medical team? Getting players back fit is worse than ever with Crosby and Ablett missing all season.

So, Golding finally gets his chance. I hope he goes well. No point having him in the squad otherwise.

I'm in the Walker camp on this one, but I agree that Walker is far from the finished article. If Golding can come in and recapture his form from 2017, that would be a big boost for the team - IIRC he was regularly making stunning one-on-one try-savers that kept us in a number of games. We've not seen enough of this from Walker (and the team in general) so far this year.

The main thing we need is defence. Once Ava and some of the injured return we can worry about attacking play. I don't think Golding is the long term solution but if he can help with goal line defence we'll be harder to beat.

I'd play the whole 2nd team/juniors and tell them all playing for a place against Huddersfield. Don't care if we lose, could do without the distraction of the cup anyway
