From my own perspective when I used to play, I had matches where I suspect I came across a bit like Harry.
In my opinion, with all his injuries, he has come back, too determined and desperate to make up for lost time. Essentially, he is too pumped up to succeed. Clearly, he has overstepped the mark on quite a few occasions and possibly his over keenness to make up for lost time has got him trying to overperform to a point where its affecting his performance, his thinking and he is underperforming.
Hopefully, Rohan can speak to him positively and constructively to get him to use his determination and motivation in the best way. Personally, I would tell him not to try be too involved and take a step back a little and his form will come.
I think the one criticism with Watkin's was that I felt he was a little soft and didn't want it that much. Talentwise he was world class but he didn't want it as much as Harry and didn't always come looking to affect games sometimes. Whereas, Harry is the opposite, he wants it too much. He needs a balance between Watkin's and himself.
Yeah good comments - of course all of this is moot if the lad can't get and stay fit. He seems to pull up almost every game with a limp of some kind. As has been said on here before, some bodies are just not cut out for RL (mine certainly isn't!).
Would you switch Newman and play Mom right hand side then?
I think this is going to be an interesting one.
I'd want to see Momirovski playing inside Fusitu'a. I think Fusi will get much more clean ball that way, and score more tries. Something he has lacked a little this season.
I also think Newman is naturally better at passing the ball to the left than right. He seems to have struggled putting the long right pass in at times. Both of these would suggest that Harry should wear the number 4 shirt next season.
But, I then think the left side would be a defensive weak point. Both Newman and Handley have a tendency to stray from their channel when defending, and both can miss tackles. I'd prefer Mom on the left in defence to give a bit more stability.
If I was Rohan, I'd be tempted to trial having Newman and Momirovski switch positions depending on who has possession of the ball.
Most teams attack left to right due to the relative ease of passing that way. In that case you’d want your best defenders on your right, meaning Mom is 3 & Harry is 4.

One of them isn't correct. You'd be putting your weaker defender on their left, facing the attackers right. Or am I misreading?
Instead of putting the two stronger defenders (Fusi and Mom) on one side, and the two weaker defenders (Newman and Handley) on the other, I'd mix them up.
I can't find stats on Super League, but this seasons NRL stats show that the percentage of tries scored per area are 36.5% for left channel, 24% for middle, 39.5% for right channel. So there isn't that much in it.
Some clubs have bigger percentages one way, and some others, which obviously depends on players and playing style.
I'm sure Rohan has better access to relevant stats though, and will know on a team by team basis which sides needs an emphasis on defence.
Interesting decision for Rohan to make. My personal opinion would be Newman/Handley and Mom/Fus. This is based on Newman more likely to break a line and Handley has always been good in support. Whereas Mom more likely to draw a defender and release the winger which would be better for Fus. But hey, nice to be in this position… just hope the back five can stay fit long enough to string some proper games together.

Agree with this. Mom isn't as explosive as Nene but he has a far better rugby brain, much better step and passer, also defensively much better. I think he's suited to Fusi more but what do i know

Yeah you're right, I meant attack Right to Left. With Mom at 3 and Harry at 4 we would have our best defender against their most likely attack, and our best line breaker receiving more ball when we attack.

I meant the other left...
I'm pretty sure that our best line breaker next season is going to be Miller. Hopefully he'll take some pressure off Newman in that regard. Croft (if he comes) is also great at taking on the line, so we might go from one to three. Will make a big difference.
