I think by what he meant in the four players were in the 21 man squad - Hooley, Walters, Tindall and possibly Olpherts?

What I find fascinating is that despite hints from Smith and GH, the likes of Matt Shaw, who normally seem to know everything, seem completely in the dark when it comes to NRL signings. That could be because it's all a bluff and we have nothing up our sleeves, or alternatively there is something big and top secret in motion. Naturally I want to believe the latter.

I wouldn't touch with a bargepole any potential signing from anywhere who would think twice because Leeds would seek to enforce a legally binding contract. There's a right way to do things. It's not difficult.

Shaw didn't know much about Miller or Frawley until they were basically done. He feeds off agents and clubs. If the agents and clubs arent willing to help he doesn't find out stuff.

I wasn't suggesting he has a crystal ball. My point is - he normally gets the story. In fairness, he reported we were in the market for Miller a couple of months before we signed him and historically his sources have been pretty good. Seems to be struggling at present though.

Let’s hope no news is good news. We are going to struggle next year if we don’t bring in some real form and quality.

That sounds like a 'Iestyn Harris debacle' waiting to happen again.

If I remember rightly Harris was also forced to compensate Leeds / Bradford were?

Ii can see how players might develop a combative attitude to clubs - after all, you’ll be ditched off if they can find a better player in your position.

Some players are a bit numb in commercial/contractual/ethical matters though.
