Yeah I understand and share the concern there AC, i'd like someone better there, I wonder if we can poach a decent uk player as we ideally need to replace Nene 110% but i think someone of Croft's ilk is a big big must.

We both generally stand on the same side of the fence, but we'll have to part company on this one. 1) Donaldson & Goudemand are not 2nd rows, they are middle forwards, and no amount of wishful thinking will change that. 2) Of our true 2nd rows I would argue Martin is the best. 3) Simpson is very young, just been out for the season with a serious injury, and just too physically frail to play SL regularly at the moment. I would say Smith is two, three years away at best.
We've just got to do a lot better than this. Smith clearly doesn't want to play a power game, so we need some three quarters with a bit of strength and sparkle. Moving our best 2nd row to centre and blowing a quota spot on a prop is just not going to achieve that.
