Leeds made an early offer like Walters wanted. It was a big mistake by him really - he'd done very little at that point in time to justify a big contract. Had he held off like most other players, after that spell in the Leeds first team he would have been courted by every club in the league and would have gone onto a contract at Leeds or elsewhere worth much more than his Wigan one.

That`s true and now it will cost us even more to get a decent replacement.
If Thompson is going to Wigan along with Eseh and Walters plus the likes of Dupree and Havard they are certainly going to be the team to beat next year.

Not neccessarily, if history has taught us anything - you can have a team full of stars but unless the stars perform.....

Thompson is available from 2024.

He will stay in the NRL. Plenty of offers available to him out there

Austin wants a two year contract, and Hetherington told him a one year extension may be on the table but wouldn't even commit to that

It looks like Fev have offered him that, but with the terms that they get promoted.

As it stands, Austin is still a Leeds player until the end of the 2023 season and was on loan to Cas. After that, he becomes a free agent able to sign for whoever offers him the best deal for 2024 onwards.

He was never Castleford's player to 'let go'. That's what I was saying.
