As it stands, Austin is still a Leeds player until the end of the 2023 season and was on loan to Cas. After that, he becomes a free agent able to sign for whoever offers him the best deal for 2024 onwards.

He was never Castleford's player to 'let go'. That's what I was saying.

Oh right, your post said he was under a Leeds contract til 2024, which is different to til the end of 2023. His next club contract would still begin for preseason 2023. Anyway, you didn't mean that, so.

The article in Yorks Live says it's decision day for him this week. Wigan are in the mix, but as you say there are a few NRL sides, notably the Roosters, interested. Got to admire the Pies ambition though, hopefully our sights are set equally high.

Yeah, I probably could have worded it better. I meant his contract would run out after the 2023 season, but before the start of the 2024 season. So now, basically.

Not really in this seasons academy jim, certainly not at Mik or Holroyds level at the same age.

i like Ben Littlewood who's played prop and backrow, but thats based off his athletic potential more than anything at present, he's 6ft 5/6ft 6 and rapid, needs to put size onto his frame, but certainly got the frame to carry it... and Leo Aliyou can be a bit of a wrecking ball from time to time.

The next props im reallyexcited about are the 2 recently moved up to the Academy from scholarship, Joe Butterfield and Jayemm Olapipupo, both really exciting talents, with natural size, added to Pressly Cassell at 13, its as exciting a trio of middle forwards as We've had in one intake that i can remember.

Leeds & Paul Mcshane back in talks apparently 1 Yr deal offered by us still apparently Cas want him off wage bill as he's a top earner. Don't know if anything has been fully agreed but talks happening.

McShane would be a good teacher to the young ones but I’d would be surprised as I think he had a go at Leeds when he left .
Thompson to Wigan not going to happen , I heard it on some NRL podcast that he wanted to stay in Oz and there are a few clubs after him .Walters is a sad loss , still trying to the end of the Cas game when he had nothing to prove or gain from it .
