Would Sonny Bill Williams be exempt from the salary cap as he’s been a union player for a good few years?
If so we could sign him for free on the cap and still bring in another marquee player.

The Returning Talent Pool Dispensation is that "any Player who has not previously played Rugby League in the 5 years prior to signing is given a value of 50% of his true value in the first year of his contract and 75% of his true value in the second year".

He last played RL in 2014 I think so perfect timing for anyone wanting to sign him - although whether 50% of his salary is better than using a marquee slot is open to question.

Not related but has anyone seen the apparent footage of Big Nelson Asofa-Solomona in Bali? If that’s him and it really looks like him, he levels everyone in his path, he is a monstrous human, also he is screwed.
