The difference is where you start from in terms of junior strength. If you have a good bunch on kids at whatever stage, the job is to work out how to integrate them and build around them. If you don’t then the job is to build a winning team to attract them in the first place. Leeds are in the former category and Leigh are in the latter. The different strategies are both right given where they are starting from.

Using Leigh as a benchmark here certainly gives perspective on how quickly you can supplement a Championship winning squad that is without an academy structure but with very astute overseas recruitment can do very well in our competition and even finish in the play offs and also win a CC Final in their first season
It's fair to say that the Rhinos have been in transition now since 2015
as our GF win in 2017 came the either side of playing in the Middle 8's competition.
The Rhinos consistently produce quality academy talent that can play in SL but have really struggled with getting the quality overseas players that make the big difference to sides
These 4 players from overseas that Leigh signed would have transformed our side imo
