Yorkshire CCC are in negotiations to sell their part of Headingley Stadium.
Maybe Mr Caddick doesn't feel the potential new owner would be a good neighbour and has acted to protect his and the Rhino's interests?

Wasn't there a article somewhere stating the Sports Direct guy was trying to buy Headingley (not sure if it was just the cricket side). Could be to do with that?

If it doesn't have a direct impact on the success of the team on the pitch, most supporters aren't really going to care. Of course that's understandable with the ongoing failure in that regard. Let's not be continually surprised that announcements like naming rights don't get your average supporters jollys up.

It reminds me of JJBS bigger picture 'changing lives through sport' speech at the Wigan game only to rapidly 360 on that the following week. Get a successful team and good signings through the door and maybe we might care that Ronnie the rhino has been to your littles ones school assembly.

That’s a really cynical and shortsighted look at things IMO.

I think its pretty realistic to be honest. People pay money to see good performances and entertainment. The peripheral things aren't their priority, it would be naive to think otherwise.

Take Manchester United, probably still the biggest brand in world football but have massively got things wrong on the field for a number of years. Do their fans care about the clubs profile? No, as it's not translating to the success they do care about.

We’ve had a torrid few years but still won a GF, a CCF, and appeared in another GF throughout that period.

And you look at other clubs like Hull FC (who have taken major strides forward according to Tad) who’s owner is talking about them not lasting another 6 months!

And their fans seem as entitled as some Leeds Rhinos fans in that respect.

The Rhinos will have good times on the field again just like Man United will.

Yeah but the caveat Christopher is that it translates to success. Nobody (or few) think ' we've not finished in the top 4 for 6 years, the quality on the pitch is pretty dire. But just have a look at these spreadsheets!'
