It looks inevitable he will go. Salford need the cash, other clubs need his talents.

It’s not just the transfer fee they’d get, it’s the massive saving in salary too which they can invest elsewhere.

I’d say at this stage it’s likely we will get him, unless an NRL club comes in.

Should be a good deal for all concerned. Fingers crossed.

They’ve sent an email basically saying because of the decrease in tv funding they are at least £300k short for the next year.

I’m in agreement, we get Croft and then we go get Ackers too.

Momirovski, Croft, Ackers, Hudson and another English forward would be nice.

The sticking point to this going through would be what NRL aspirations Croft has. At 26 he's been here 2 years and you'd expect a commitment to at least another 2 at leeds would be required to put a big transfer fee down.

Croft has got a 6 year deal, will have 5 years left. he is unlikely to accept less for his own security, it may be whether GH will commit to a five year deal that will be at top money ? It will be a big call either way !!

My biggest worry would be the NRL get out clause, it would have to be not after the first year, id be fine with it after 2, If offer a 4 year deal with an NRL get out clause after 2

I'm not sure that the length of contract Croft signed with salford was anything more than 'gimmick' and designed to command a fee for a transfer away from the club. The length of contract is pretty unheard of and to go aiming for another long (5 year) contract with his next club would never have been heard of I don't think? Maybe I'm being cynical but I just can't envisage the aspiration to stay at Salford for that long, or maybe they did sell the project well to him.
