Mcshane was getting a testimonial at Cas in 2024 so if we are in for him I would assume we are covering that. Other than that as long as we get Croft over the line I am OK with a short term deal as we need some experience in our pack. We would have 2 of the last 4 men of steel in our squad!

Mcshane for a year makes some sense. If the bit about going onto staff afterwards is true I wouldn’t mind that either. Yes an ex player but at least one from a pivotal/thinking position.

Quota comes into it though, might be the only way we can improve 6, 7, 9, Centre and prop in one offseason?

Also means we can still back one of JOC or Johnson.

The kind of signing that's ok providing we get the other well discussed areas strengthened significantly. McShane has a good short kicking game and can throw in the odd 40/20. I can easily live with the one year deal if this is the case.

I hope not also.I wouldn't be against him loaned out at another SL club for a season with a recall clause.
