We've made several sigings & re-signed a couple more. The might all be mediocre and we will no doubt make a cheap option on a coach but your statement is rubbish. Apart from your last sentence.

I was going to mention that Cas have signed a fair few players. It will be interesting to see how the PNG guys go.

Do we think the croft deal will go through this week? Or will the various stumbling blocks be too much to overcome?

I think the deal has already been done but - if not then there has to come a point where the price becomes too high. Is Croft worth a £250k fee plus £200k+ per year for however many years? Maybe.

He can still get injured or lose form. We have signed lots of names before that looked good as a name and didn’t produce for us. Better to find the next Bridie Croft from Queensland Cup or whatever if possible… but then for every Croft there’s a Lino.

There is tremendous pressure on GH / RS to bring a “big” signing in.

So yeah suspect it is already done but if no show with the new kit I’d change my mind!

I doubt the cash is the issue, my bet is how long until he can use his nrl get out clause.

It’s entirely possible that they’ve made a big effort, mainly to appease fans, but also no point paying big money to someone who wants too much. I’m really not a fan of this marquee stuff. Not as rosy as people like to believe. Having one player on stupid money can upset the apple cart. How much was Tet payed compared to say Holroyd ?
