Do you want me to spell it out, Salford shouldn't have received a franchise, shocking ground, poor side, poor fan base, had enough chances and consistently failed.
Do you need any more people to spell it out for you, Halifax shouldn't have received a a franchise, shocking ground (worse than the Willows), poor side (finished below Salford for several years consecutively), poor fan base (consistetly smaller crowds than Salford), had enough chances and consistently failed (were given a place in the original SL, which Salford weren't, and proved they couldn't hack it over a number of years) ... and that's without mentioning financial mismanagement, the ridiculous length of time it took to develop The Shay, the fact that Fax aren't even running a reserve squad this year, Widnes and Leigh deserving a franchise more than Fax, ... need I go on?
That said I like Halifax, made financial contributions towards the club when their future was in doubt, like the town (worked there for a while and have family there too) and always enjoy my trips to The Shay (especially in the Colin Dixon cup matches).
Not sure why I'm trying to reason with someone who was "educated in Bradford" though (oxymoron?!)
In an attempt to bring the thread back on-topic, I full expect Leeds to win by at least 20 today, at a canter.

Worse than the Willows, when did you last visit the Shay, the stand is now complete and the ground is better than the majority in SL.
That poor side would give Salford a serious run for their money if played right now, in fact Halifax have been consistently building now for three years without the meal ticket Salford have been afforded by the RFL.
The fan base for Halifax is considerably more than that of Salford, in fact if Halifax had been given a franchise those who joined the Bradford bandwagon would return, how are Salford going to bring new fans into the club?
The mismanagement of Halifax is too complicated to explain on a forum, but rest assured the people responsible have are no longer involved with the club.
Halifax in terms of tradition are on a different planet to Salford so I suggest you don't go there, in fact its safe to say salford have no history.
ps Leeds, get used to being in our slipstream. Its about time the real new power in yorkshire came to the fore. We've had too long of you and Bradford, with your endless referee bleating and your quaint ramshackle grounds, being near the top. Its time for us to reclaim our rightful place as the flag bearer for the white rose county.
see you saturday. Its going to hurt !!
