we have cap space spare, Gh said AFTER we signed eastwood we had room for a mid season signing. i cannot believe we never spend the full cap.it's a joke

IMO the centre position is more of an immediate problem.

agree.i cannot see why we cannot sign two players instead of muddling through. i won't hold my breath though

Maybe its to leave some leeway in the event that certain practices get caught under the salary cap that hitherto did not?

Also worth noting that not necessarily everything a player earns from the game comes directly from the club and ranks under the cap.

I wonder what Red hall's reaction would be if a certain large construction company were to employ say...... about 17 new part time salesmen on 100k a year ....who co-incidentally played a mean game of RL.

Assuming you are alluding to what I think you are, it would breach the cap, because Caddick Construction is connected with Leeds Rhinos in terms of the salary cap rules. The rules were tightened up a lot after the wife-works-in-club-shop-for-a-fortune scandal, I believe.

If, by way of another example, a company seemingly NOT connected happened to acquire the image rights of 17 players, whether or not as a result of that additional income the players felt they did not need such big salaries from the club as might otherwise be the case, then there is every chance that the salary cap auditor would find little to worry him.
