The area where the train station is (new town) is full of idiots and chavs. Old town is your best bet ie Revolution, Barracuda, wetherspoons etc although further away than the rest.

I'd go down Prinny ave, as already said full of pub/cafés with outside seating a really nice place to go for a drink. Then on your way back to the stadium pop into brickies and Parkers!

Olde White Harte down the alley off Silver Street and Walters down Scale Lane are both close by and excellent.

New town is only full of idiots on a night time really. Admiral (weatherspoons) is okay any time of the day. The old Town is the best place to go drinking in town though, but I'd agree that Princes Avenue is the best place to go drinking and only 5 minutes walk from the ground
