Having been in similar discussions and negotiations, candidly the problem is with the French Government not with Leeds. Rightly so they have put their case forward, however it is Leeds who have to have the final decision. In discussions with the French no satisfaction could be agreed with them, therefore the game has to go ahead. Any Super league team should do the same. In a game with not much money, the threat of ground closure, the cancellation of fixtures, the short term is looking bleak.
Leeds needs the income to pay off their debt to the bank for the new stands, simply changing fixtures around does not bode well with the corporate sponsors and the corporate entertainment, the corporate sponsors want Friday evening games, this is when their clients attend games, already this year we have a number of games on Thursday and Sundays, changing more fixtures does not help the situation, even more so what about the players health, surely we need to look after the players welfare. I have no sympathy with the French
