Ackers is 29 probably coming on a 3-4 year deal, thats prime years (27-33) for RL forwards nowadays so not sure how we can carry Johnson for another 2-3 years just in case he eventually cones good, and we have rated Academy players coming through.
The week points inn O’Conners game can be worked on improved with practice and game time, not sure Johnsons can.

Ackers will help Croft bed in loads, he’s also probably the best or one of the best 9s in SL

If we could sign a good prop and have some injury luck we could deffo challenge top 4

This looks like a great bit of business from Leeds.

While I'm very excited, I'm still not expecting too much in 2024. Every time Leeds have made wholesale changes by splashing the cash in previous seasons, we have come up short. The only possible exception is the start of the Murray years. It is still going to take time, in part because it looks like we'll have an entirely new spine that will not gel straight away. Look at other clubs when they have spent big - Warrington in particular. Okay, Ackers and Croft have played together before, but so did Sezer and Austin

My hope is that we manage to establish ourselves firmly as a top 4 side, and play like one week-in, week-out. This has to be the minimum expectation. We may be in with a shout for more than this if RS manages to bring the team together in pre-season, and perhaps emulate the kind of outcomes Leigh achieved in 2023. But I think we're still very much in transition...

Im not sure I can remember the whole spine plus a centre changing in one off season, not in recent times anyway.

I do think the side will take some time to bed in but I also think there's enough quality and more importantly Rugby Intelligence in the new squad to compete even if we aren't firing on all cylinders to start with.

Anyway its a whole lot more exciting than it looked after the Catalans game at the end of the season!

I don't think we'll see a top line prop come in though

If we don’t see the top line prop Chris, who will be the UK qualified Marquee that we were promised by GH?

I’ll comment on the actual signings when the are confirmed by the club. Shouldn’t have to wait long now.

Well one of our prop targets is going to be here with England….perfect time to announce him and get the pics of him in the new shirt (wishful thinking I know, but this off season so far has been like none before….so why not)
