They probably just wanted to get all the big name signings announced first, imagine the negativity if they had announced him when all the fans were baying for blood around transfers, wouldn't have been good PR.

I imagine they knew they needed to shift Myler a lot earlier than yesterday - where they were placing him presumably wasn't clarified until more recently. And if the cap is tight then clearing a salary might well be needed even to bring in a relatively low earner.

Doesn't have the feel of the club pushing a player out the door to me. Perhaps Myler was hedging his bets a little and waiting to see if we came up with another half, which we did, and then he's explored his options in the end of season break? Who knows? I'm sure Mr Shaw will be along to provide the inside story in due course.

I seriously doubt that this is to do with making space for Hudson. I understand Kieran was signed a while ago, and with a live cap, the RFL will not let a club register a player who will take them over the cap. This is more likely about Myler wanting to play regularly at this stage of his career and for us to bring in a prop.

Does seem a little coincidental with Myler and Hudson so close. This is welcome addition for depth but a project signing still - still intrigued around who else if anyone we might bring in.

For me we still need another prop in addition to Hudson, but I don’t know who.

I would say most likely scenario is that after the double signing of Croft and Ackers that Myler has told the club that he wanted to explore alternative options.
He knew we were probably bringing in a half but probably considered his potential for a regular bench spot has diminished with the unexpected signing of Ackers. He probably believed he may have got the 14 shirt with the ability to cover 1 7 and 9 from the bench. Also some of the negative off the field stuff should reduce at a lower profile club.

Like the look of Hudson, has all the attributes longer term. Getting the right prop for the here and now won't be easy though i'm sure the club are exploring all options. Myler leaving certainly gives us much more cap to play with.

If we get Wilson from Hudds, I would be happy with our recruitment. Possibly, a winger / full back cover would be nice but happy to go with the academy for this.
