When you look at club trained players from last season - (Newman, Handley, Oledzki, Holroyd, Smith, O’Connor, Gannon, Johnson, Sinfield, Simpson, Nicholson-Watton, Edgell, Lumb, Smith, Warren, Ruan) You’d think that Newman, Handley, Oledzki or Smith will be our highest paid club trained player. Which ever it is, will only count as £50k on the cap in 24, reduced from £75k The overseas marquee player rule is £150k which is obviously going to be Brodie Croft. (Millar, Fusitua, Momirovski, Croft, Frawley, Martin, Lisone). There is also the federation trained marquee player, which is down from £150k to £100k in 24. (Ackers, Bentley, McDonnell, Sangare, Goudemand, Olpherts, Hudson, Roberts, Donaldson) You’d think out of them, Ackers is probably on the most, which will mean he is exempt after £100k. Anyone under the age of 21 on under £30k are also exempt from the cap, which is likely to be Edgell, Lumb, J Smith, Nicholson-Watton, Ruan, Warren, Simpson. I think given the circumstances, I think it’s safe to say we have cap space left. Myler > Millar (probably about same) MacDonald > Momirovski (about same) Austin > Croft (considerably more but Marquee rule probably means less) Sezer > Frawley (less) Leeming > Ackers (about same but new fed trained rule take him less) Tetevano > Goudemand (considerably less) Walters > Hudson (less) Gibbons, Field, Edwards were probably under the u21 rule so no different, but Hooley gone. Given this I think we have a fair bit of cap space left. Leeds will utilise every rule possible and so they should.
How is O’Connor club trained when we signed him from Widnes with Walters??

I’m not sure whether we need a squad prop now or to wait until next season when we can properly go to market for an impact prop.
Looks like they are still trying to create cap room but can’t see who for.

Thankfully Cust to Salford and Powell to Wire.
We get Croft and Ackers.
Very happy with that.
Any props at Salford worth looking at to 'help them with the financial troubles' again??
Partington maybe?
All the others are ex Leeds anyway....

Location
Wakefield but near to Leeds!
Ormandroyd maybe?
Would definitely take Partington but can see him going to Wire.

Because it was their first professional full time deal and was also prior to them being 21.
