Union props and second rowers rarely succeed in League in fact they are are generally awful converts, its simply a very very different role with the same name.
But maybe he’s a poor union prop and better suited to League. Prop is much mire difficult position in league than some people think. Defensive reads, tackling technique, plus attacking structure and running lines all take years to become instinctive.
