Gotcha - Walker was bloody awful v kr. He failed miserably to stop any of the tries he got involved with and was barely jogging across on the tries scored away from the middle. Not to mention 3 kicks any one of which was inexcusable. No wonder you think he's a one in a generation player if you think that was anything other than garbage.
He can and has played much better but don't try and explain that away and claim he was ok - he simply wasn't. What I want to see is him having a stormer when we're not playing well, not bagging tries when we're thrashing someone.
And this is what I am talking about with posters like you talking utter nonsense. Look at your first and second sentence you have put there, and you say you saw the match? you obviously didn't because this never happened. How did you miss the try saving tackle on the line in the second half? seriously how are you missing this? I may have a positive opinion of the guy, that may be true, but you most certainly have an agenda against and digging a big hole for yourself.
Cannot understand the thinking behind bagging a 19 year old who incidentally, though not without his flaws, is easily one of the top 5 players this year. Not sure where this impression of him being some arrogant kid who thinks a bit much of himself comes from either.
Sort out the crap that’s infront of him and he may just continue to develop. It’s not just goal line D it’s the soft stuff in the good ball end that has the team constantly going backwards.
but you are completely deluded if you think walker had a good game last week, he bottled several kick returns was nowhere near on some tackles near the line and looked like he was avoiding making tackles,
We only need to read this little bit to see the nonsense you are talking, as this is just not in anyway what happened last week. Like I said complain about the kicks, and make an unnecessary issue out of it (yet of course ignore Sutcliffe doing the same), but the rest you have said is just rubbish. Not one bottled kick return.

Your arguing with 2-3 people on this post and a couple on another, so pretty sure you are the one who watched a different game to everybody else last week. Your blinkered opinions of him are quite clear, the criticism of Walker last week is fair and true enough, he rightly is dropped/rested this week, it does not mean he is a bad player or is still not a great prospect, nor does it mean others have an agenda against him. But he has work to do and needs to improve. People where quick to want to bin Golding off as soon has Walker scored 3 tries against Doncaster in the Cup when Golding was barely 20 years old. Now Walker is getting a bit of stick for some bad performances you don't like it.
Walker was crap against Hull kr just like the rest of the team. Yes he made a great tackle but the rest of the match he was poor. Hopefully a week off will do him some good and he can push on
Think we need to give Sutty and Myler as much time together as we can, then bring Callum on to rest one of them. Tui looked ok at 1, but by including Golding there is some flexibility in case of injury or poor form. Would like to see Albert at 13, he seems to want to play with the ball rather than be a running prop so play him somewhere he can. But who knows how DF is seeing it.

No, I am arguing with the same two people, who are talking nonsense. Nothing more than that, so don’t try and hide behind something different. You need to try and back up the nonsense you are talking, state it and at what point in match, then you might not get called out for it.
By the way I have absolutely no favourite in this team currently, and don’t believe a single one would get a game in our 2005 side.
My take on Walker is the kid is a great talent but right now little more than that. He can be brilliant and awful, sometimes in the same game, and is exactly what you’d expect of a young 19 year old prospect.
He needs to work on every area of his game, more so defence where he isn’t quite strong enough or aware enough yet.
It’s a long time since I’ve seen a 19 year old fullback with so much talent, and I’m glad he’s a t our club.
Walker will make & has made mistakes but he's the least of our problems. Ive seen Webb make plenty of errors & further back Harris before anyone wades in aswell its not a direct comparison just a point about even better players make mistakes. Our Coaching ,Defensive structure & overall quality of the squad need sorting long before we blame a 19yr old FB or stick the boot in because he's rated by plenty.

A very balanced opinion there Batley and it is probably much the same as the opinion that I have of Walker at present.
IMO Walker is miles ahead of where Golding is at present and that he will not be surpassed by him as starting FB at the Rhinos, although the Jury is still out on both players and quite rightly so, but IMO only one of them is of SL standard at present.
Walker has the potential to be a great SL player down the line, but IMO talk of him getting an NRL gig are vastly premature at present. Golding could also get a chance at FB at the Rhinos and improve out of sight in that role.
The other option at present that i wouldn't completely rule out is that both players could actually be surpassed by either another home grown player currently in the academy pathway or by an overseas signing down the line taking the starting FB role
The FB role is definitely Walker's to lose and with improvements to his game, then it is his role for the duration of his current contract and possibly beyond
