It was off the ball, at exactly the same time as a big tackle was being made on the actual ball carrier, in a non-televised game. Which of those two things happening at the same time do you think the referee and the touchies should have been looking directly at? It was caught, presumably in peripheral vision, by the officials but there was never going to be enough to go on there to send him off.
That maybe the case on this occasion, but in that respect this was something of a one off, with the tackle that followed it. Presumably if a similar late push or shove like Austins happens, that is seen at the time, the player will be sent off. If we are going to see consistency.
I’m sure this will come to bite me on the bottom but is it just me or does the Warrington squad not look overly scary on paper?
They do look lighter than us in the prop department?
Matty Ashton, Joe Bullock, Rob Butler, Josh Charnley, Daryl Clark, Jason Clark, Mike Cooper, Ben Currie, Matt Davis, Oliver Holmes, Ellis Longstaff, Peter Mata’utia, Robbie Mulhern, Joe Philbin, Stefan Ratchford, Ellis Robson, Josh Thewlis, Danny Walker, Gareth Widdop, George Williams, Connor Wrench.

Don't think you will find many Wire fans disgreeing with you, we thought we weren't good/big enough upfront last year, this season we have lost Hill and replaced him with Bullock.
I'm guessing Powell will try and play a game that suits a more mobile pack and hopefully he can get the spine working to good structure - thats where our strength lies I think. That said I think we wont be firing for the first few rounds as things bed in - we looked disorganised vs Wigan in the friendly, so I expect a Leeds win on Saturday - you'll be too strong for us up front and I'm not sure we'll be as fluent as we need to be in attack.
Looking forward to the game though, good following coming over so should look good on C4.

I think we should ease walker back into full game time given his injury record. Sezer is skillful enough and experienced enough too control both half back spots pretty much whilst Austin serves his one match ban. I'd only play Newman if he was 100% fit no point risking anything in round 1.
