I don't think we will end up in a relegation fight tbh and expect us win at Scunthorpe but the inconsistency and hammerings will continue until we can spend some REAL ££ on the team.

As has been said before we're going to be up and down all season. Worrying thing is it seems any team can give us a hammering. Be it a promotion winning team like Cardiff or no hopers like Barnsley/Preston.

The thing that does my head in with Grayson is that he has his favourites that no matter how poor they've played or how big the hammering their names are still on the teamsheet the following game.
Jonny Howson, what has he done for the majority of the season apart from look like an amateur and get over-run in midfield? Yet he never ever gets dropped and then gets the armband handed to him.
Bradley Johnson, very similar to Howson in that he rarely gets dropped and rarely has a good game, another plodder who's place in the team seems guarenteed no matter what. Got a decent cross on him sometimes and a decent shot on the few occasions he hits the target but for every shot on target he hits 5 high and wide. Gets out muscled easily in the midfield battle.
Snodgrass has been poor recently but he's one of the very few from last nights side that can create and make things happen. Needs to be in the team when the midfield is bossing things which is rare.
Somma/Becchio had no service. Could do with Paynter and McCormack back to add compettion.
The defence is dire, Collins is the only one that hasn't been dropped yet but from what i've seen he's just as bad as the rest. Bruce looks about the best CB we've got and he was at fault for the goal so he'll probably get dropped but i'd like to see Bruce and Bromby or someone given a few games. FB's a jizz aswell no matter who plays but although the defence is getting plenty of stick you still need the midfield pulling there weight and there not IMO.

Though Nunez looked promosing for the time he got and the situation he came onto, looked very lively and looked for the ball. Johnson played very well which suprised me, and Somma I thought was very poor. Had that freak first goal not happened I thought we looked like we could have possibly knicked the 3 points. But after the goal went in the confidence dropped and we never really looked like getting back into it. Midtable would be a successful season for me now.

There's a Preston fan where I work and he's overjoyed that we took Collins from them, says all Preston supporters know how bad he is and never thought they would actually get money for him, thought they would have to pay to get shut!
I think it's time for Ken to put his hand in his pocket and get hold of some half decent defenders. It's a transitional season yes, but it doesn't have to be with the right players onboard, the guys who got us promotion have had their chance, now is the time to move on (well at least when the transfer window opens) if we leave it too long promotion will be out of reach for this season, we only realistically have a play off spot to play for as it stands now.
Have to say agree with Sibbs that Nunez looked the part, but it's our defence that needs strengthening not our attack, not looked the same since Kisnorbro's injury, really could do with him back right now.

Seems midfield is the problem really. Sort that out and give the defence a hand and the goals should dry up.

I think both defence and midfield need a couple of additions. I know the transfer window is shut until january but if Grayson waits until then he'll be out of a job, it needs sorting now and a couple of loans would do until january. I wouldn't mind if he tried making a few chances to his favoured few players but he never does. Drop Howson, Johnson, Collins and maybe Snodgrass although he is one of our more creative players, but he doesn't, he drops Naylor for Bruce and vice-versa. Kilkenny has been dropped to allow Faye gametime and it's a joke. We get embarrased and the midfield get over-run and Jonny Average Howson gets handed the armband on a plate for being $hit. What is going on. Why not give Clayton a run, with Faye in the middle with Sam/Gradel/Nunez/Watt out wide? I'm not sure if Sam is injured because he was playing well and now doesn't even make the bench. and where is McCormack? Paynter is due back aswell which is good news, at least it's competition for the strikers. I like Becchio but he can be so annoying, he must be offside more than anyone in the league, and when he's not offside he's on his @rse. Somma was poor yesterday but him and Becchio had no service whatsoever.
If we get beat against Scunny and Coventry in our next 2 games Grayson will be ubder massive pressure IMO, Bates wont mess about if we're near the bottom, Larry will be in the dole cue by Christmas if we carry on the way we are ATM.

Going forward isn't the problem at Leeds. It's the central midfield and the work as a defensive unit. For me the positioning is all over the place - they look unorganised at the back - will Kisnorbo coming back help plug the holes? Faye's legs have gone and the left and right backs aren't getting much help defensivly from the wide players midfield and anyone with pace is tearing us apart.

I think first and foremost we must get better organised at the back and defensivley as a team. Make a couple of quality signings in Jan - difficult to do in teh Jan window and may have to pay over the odds but it needs to be done.

Great result today hopefully they can build confidence from it and kick on but we still need more quality adding.
