Only McDonnell and Newman I'd be sad at leaving.
If Martin is still upto it he might be worth another year,hopefully he gets more time in the second row this year

I wonder if Leeds are holding out for someone to become available in a different position, an in-season contract upgrade for someone, or maybe we just want to keep some space free for a mid-season signing to cover injuries or squad weaknesses?

There should be plenty of cap space available with Myler leaving, especially under the operation of a live salary cap, unless the announcements of signings and departures were not all 'live'.

...or maybe its as simple as they can't find somewhere for Olpherts without having to pay most/all of his salary? I can't see any SL clubs wanting him as anything other than a reserve.

I’d say the above, keeping some back for mid season signing etc

I agree, deal complete by beginning of the season and announced so can’t be a SL club given he can’t speak to them until May. I’d badger on him staying personally and trying to create his own history, just like Welsby has done.

That's how I read it too Christopher, although Cheekydiddles seemed pretty confident previously that Newman wouldn't be at Leeds beyond 2024 and could possibly have some insider information?
