I don't think anyone doubts his potential, its his ability to stay on the pitch and to peak consistently that he has yet to prove.

Agree with that.
Newman does have the x factor but doesn`t show it on a regular basis.
Maybe with a decent pair of halfbacks he might look better.
Added to that is his poor injury record that hinders his progress.
He already looks like he has lost some pace but that might return with an injury free season.
At this stage of his career he is a risk to the clubs down under.
Maybe get him on a 2 year extension with a clause in saying he can go to the NRL end of next season for a fee.

He shoukd be thinking about having a couple of solid seasons at Leeds and keeping himself on the pitch more than 50%

Slightly OT but cas have just signed muizz on a 4 year deal.
While I'm delighted for him it seems an odd decision. Far as I know, he has hardly been ever present in their match day 17.

I agree there, I just don't see him making any real impact in SL.

So OT but I’ve seen two professional players in the last week: pretty sure I saw Chris Clarkson in Dubai and then Ryan Hall this morning in the gym.

I was feeling pretty pleased with myself going on Christmas Eve; but then seeing a pro RL player has sucked all the testosterone from my body and left me feeling limp and pathetic.

Apparently Sam Lisone might have broke his thumb on boxing day and requires surgery could be 6-8 weeks recovery.

Kieran Hudson still hasn't been cleared to play I believe following his achilles injury he had from last season

Tom Holroyd is under a injury cloud as well with his knee surgery.

We know we are thin at prop and could have these 3 missing for start of season.

It leaves Oledzki, Sangare, Goudemond, Ruan, Donaldson and Nicholson-Watton as prop options. The club will probably love to bring in another prop/middle but depends who's available and if we have right cap space left to get anyone decent in.

If Lisone is out that would be a big blow. I think we are a prop short anyway but if we do go down on number I would love to see Watton and Littlewood given some opportunities.
