Mcdonnell Gannon Ruan and Warren are all between 6-2 to 6-5 so in the longer term there is some potential size there in our back row options before you consider the latest juniors stepping up. Taller players take longer to grow into their frames and Gannon in particular is relatively light at 6-3 and less than 15 stone.Good to here he's going well in the gym but I would like to see him put on at least another 8-10 pounds. For comparison Ruam is a stone and half heavier!

Will be an unknown after an injury like that. Would surprise me if he plays much this season, if we are healthy ish in pack…..

I think Ruan will definitely develop into a prop.
Still a bit young and raw though.
Needs to get his head down, work hard and fill out a bit and he could be very handy.

When i first saw Ruan i thought i wont he be a backrower for long.He's only 20 and already over 16 stone,he'll definitely for mine end up at prop sooner rather than later.

I'm not sure, if you're a backrower with a physique similar to a prop but possess a bit of evasion, could run good lines, had pace and handling ability then youd be a real asset out wide. Sure he could move into prop but just because he's a certain stature doesn't mean that's so, I haven't seen enough of him yet to decide. Now I'm not saying Ruan would be that 'ali type second row' people have been begging for for years but he was 6 2 and 18st and would have been wasted at prop.

Totally agree. Not bothered if he develops into a prop or stays a second row. The main thing is that he develops into a good player.
