Fear not. I'm told Donaldson has grown six inches and put on 3 stones of muscle during the off season. Seriously though, the club has made no comment that I'm aware of on the nature of Holdroyd"s injury. I'd like to think that is an indication that a return is imminent and not some hidden injury "bombshell" to be dropped a week before the season kicks off.

Unfortunately I hear the additional 6 inches and added muscle will be of no benefit to him on the field, though explains his smiley demeanor.

Holroyd doesn't seem to have appeared on the training field much during preseason which would indicate he's not going to feature in the early rounds.

Was what most of us were saying about Prop a few m9nths ago.

Hopefully at the end of this season we can move on a few of the many workhorse back rowers and sign the type of prop we need

Without a doubt, one of those "workhorse back rowers" will move up to prop this year, it's the natural progression as they get bigger and bulkier.

Who are you thinking? Ruan is now listed as a prop though doesn't fit that 'workhorse' tag and is a good way off having a real impact. Gannon is the only other one though he needs stability this year not moving around again.

Edit: though Goudemand is listed as a second row and I'll be amazed if he plays there very often.

We have some big lads coming through in the back row now and agree one or two may transition into props in time, not sure any will make a contribution there this year though.

I kept banging on about him but Sam Eseh would have been nice to drop in to the props rotation. Meanwhile we have to pin some hopes on TNW who is underdeveloped and Hudson who hasn’t played a single game of SL yet.

I can’t complain too much about our recruitment after 2023 but we are vulnerable at prop for sure.

Agree with all above on props, have to hope TNW can do a job and then it’s random . Donaldson, maybe our captain may need to do short spells there and or Rhyse Martin if injuries bite.

We are far too reliant on Oledski doing long minutes to help prop 4 have fill in spells or potentially 1 spell.

Don't worry, we've got plenty of 'middles' who can fill in if we get a couple of injuries to props.....
