Yes I think I've seen Hudson training with the first team for a while now so he can't be too far off. I can just see him being needed in first grade at times this year but they'll play him wherever is best for his development.

Getting towards the pointy end now. No idea how we'll go this year except should be better than 2023.

I think they'll need to play first grade spine for this, and if it were me I'd be making as few positional changes as possible to try to get some muscle memory and continuity. Drop Momirovski, maybe Holroyd and maybe McDonnell into that starting side and we're looking something like for Salford.

If he's fit I would be tempted to give Hudson a run out again SL opposition and see what he looks like, even if for a couple of 10 minute spells.

Are McDonnell and Gannon not fit for this Sunday? If they are, I would have either over Donaldson.

It's Donaldson's testimonial game and a friendly. He'll play. In any case, Gannon will lijely be wrapped in cotton wool for as long as poss following another concussion

It's still a pre season game for KR too. There will be plenty on both sides not playing at 100% intensity. TBH if i was coaching i woud be asking for no more then 70% from them. I presume it is free substitutions so expect to get quite disjointed after 25-30 mintues or so.
Feels like the longest off season ever and can't wait to get going properly on the 16th.
Probably wasting my breath asking for a little patience to see them gel together. I think it could take 2-3 games before we start to see anything like a unified side.Still, hoping for a decent season.

Yes I would second that.

People must think with the offseason weve had transfer wise were just going to instantly smash teams off the park where if im honest, I think we'll need time to gel and work the combos / partnerships etc.
Hopefully with the calibre of players brought in, the dumb rugby can be consigned to the history bin but pressure is on the coach to deliver for sure but still think he needs benefit of the doubt first few games until we hopefully settle.

Though far from a finished product (especially in the face of a decimated front row), I expect and hope that there's evidence that we're a world away from the awful start last year, similar levels would understandably be worrying.

it's not the lack of combinations or even results to a certain extent. it's if we are looking like we have a plan, looking like a proper team and not looking like last years shambles of a team who looked as if they had never been coached in their lives.

I take what I see there with a pinch of salt but there's quite a bit with people expectations and wordplay that they expect us to be "HMS pish the league" to steal a phrase.
