It's another example of why the ref's call is rubbish and needs to go. If the ref feels confident it's a try then just give the try.

Still, it was a great game, and a great atmosphere. Penrith had enough chances to win, regardless of the referee.

Didn’t watch it but on the radio sounded like Penrith were undercooked for the game.

In fairness in decades of watching us try to compete with the Aussies I've never seen them knowingly give the pommies an even break. As others have said, the refs call is a farce and leads to nothing but controversy. I'm probably in a minority if one but I could happily live without the video ref. Totally removes the drama from great moments. BTW - there are plenty of video ref howlers in the NRL.

I thought both sides looked clunky in attack, but both sets of defences were outstanding.

A couple of Wigan's trys looked far from clunky. That french pass was as far from clunky as you get.

I didn't get to watch all of it, were there any high tackles that would have resulted in cards with the current SL rules?

Yeh agree, Wigan got lucky with a couple of big calls.
But that's just how it goes. Wigan would have got nothing over there.

No matter how much we dislike other SL teams, I always support our team in the WCC.
Love sticking it up the Aussies in any sport.
And that doesn't happen too often in RL.
