On the cricket side of things. Headingley has been confirmed as a venue for the 2023 Ashes (to go with a Test in the 2019 Ashes). Also Leeds (Headingley) has been named as one of the cities in the new T20 competition starting in a couple of years.
[watching Mackay testing the curry in the prison kitchens] Fletcher: Course, he sees 'imself as an authority on curry, he does, on account of where he was stationed in the army. Rudge: Where? India? Fletcher: No, Bradford.
Steelwork at last started being erected on the North Stand
Steelwork started about a week ago on the pavilion on the north side. That’ll be continued all the way across the stand. I think the middle of the Stand will all be completed before they start the cricket seating etc.
I was previously sponsored by Tetleys, but didn't it then change to the Leeds Building Society South Stand?
No it remained Tetley's South Stand whilst the other side switched from being the Radio Aire North Stand to the Leeds BS North Stand and will now/when completed be the Emerald Stand.

interesting this Leeds the city has been named not YCC for the T20 comp. Does that mean that the franchise is open to bidders ? is Gary eyeing up Leeds Rhino's T20 Team ? just a thought
Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.

These cricketers earn serious money - and we all know the only people making serious money at Leeds don't take to the field. So I can't see GH wanting to run a cricket if he did it would go the way of the RU i.e. quick slide into mediocrity.
