Theres not a chance we will be able to afford Johnstone after all this.Briscoe will end up staying i reckon. Sinfield likes him and believes he will come back better than Watkins did so i cant see him being released.

But again finances will dictate.

If the update the club has given this morning about predicting a £4m loss over next 18 months is anything to go by we won’t be spending anything unless anyone leaves

It will be interesting to see if transfer fees are even needed. If players are on big (comparative to the club's finances) contracts then they may look to offload them to balance the books.

Dangerous game of course to shed some of your better players but could be necessary for some.

I’m hoping we’ve enough wealth behind us to come out the other side in good health and have the ability to kick on.

I’d be surprised if at least 1 or 2 Super League clubs don’t go into administration, there could well be players available on bargain deals, I expect Hetherington will leave some room in our budget/salary cap for this.

He didn't before.

Though he never silenced the rumours that we always had something in reserve for a player "mid season" the other years disaster proved we didn't.

The RFL has relaxed penalties for going into Administration - this says to me they know a few will be in trouble

I would suggest most clubs will be in real danger of going under and it will be a tough few years post Covid-19 as well.

Not to be doom and gloom but most RL sides have struggled in normal times so it's difficult to see most coming out the other side. Let's hope I am wrong.

I think in Gary Hetherington we are lucky to have someone in charge who gets how precarious a position SL is in and won’t just spend money we cannot afford on big signings beyond our budget. I think there will be some movement especially if some of the off contract players get better offers elsewhere. Possibly from SL or possibly the NRL. One thing is certain there will be plenty of players looking for offers and most will be getting offers below their expectations. But they will probably eventually have to take what’s on offer or retire!
