Agreed not in the same league, unless your the one put under the grubby media's spotlight with little substantiation.

TBF though I don't think the media did really make a big song and dance about it. They inquired about it and reported it of course but they also reported Hardaker's view the other day when he talked about how the RFL was dragging it's heels and the effect it was having on his family.

That was the one thing I think he got wrong in the aftermath when he made a comment about journalists being a waste of breathe. He used them himself to tell his side of the story so he was ok with that particular participation. When you compare it to the field day journalists had over some of the footballing incidents with the likes of John Terry, Luis Suarez, Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney then they didn't do anything like that. Even on that BackChat episode you had Stevo, Danny Lockwood and Chris Irvine all saying it seems to be a nonsense and I've not seen any sensationalising of it except from opposition fans on social media.

Given Bill eve's hysteria on here, he really should have given up watching the NRL years ago. Virtually every club has players guilty of domestic violence, general thuggery on the streets or lewd behaviour. Surely they should all be sacked - no matter how high profile they are. Unless actually hitting a woman is somehow a lesser crime than calling someone a name?

The hysteria on show here is from those fools who would rather their clubs players never get the sack no matter what offences have been committed, if only to prevent a rival club from signing that player

Of course, it takes an even bigger fool to consider homophobic abuse as nothing more than name calling.

The 21st century clearly appears to have passed some people by.

Having said that, Queensland isn't exactly notorious for it's progressive views.

It likes to refer to itself as the Sunshine State.

The moniker Redneck State would be far more appropriate.

Had to put a link to the RFL statement on the thread they started on the Wakey board as it didn't appear anyone was going to update it and just as I expected from them they're spouting the usual "Leeds affected the verdict","GH rules the RFL" and even someone suggesting it's a "Scottish Verdict" of Not proven. The more vehement attackers of Zak didn't have the class to accept the outcome let alone apologise for being waaaaaay OTT. No class, no surprise!

There is no place in the modern world for homophobia, its not quite "name calling" as you say

Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.

The only hysteria on here is from you regarding the use of an 'alleged' homophobic term.

In your view it appears clubs should accept thuggish behaviour on the field but should sack anyone who calls someone a queer? Perhaps you even view this discrimination of the behavioural trait to be even more serious than domestic violence, child abuse etc? Your reaction to this would suggest you view this crime very high up your moral compass?

I would suggest your moral compass is a bit warped compared to society. Then you do empathise with the writings of Noam Chomsky!!

On Queensland I would say Brisbane is a far more progressive/enlightened city than its counterparts in NSW and Victoria.

It is no surprise either that the PC crowd from the Sin Bin invaded this thread - no wonder that board is as dead as the dodo!!
