All that was heard is f****** something, a name. Only those with an agenda have said the something was an homophobic word. Shown now as no evidence to back this up, therefore just "name calling".

Too right! I suggest you locate the kid with the blond hair and red, chubby cheeks who lead a chorus of your fans in a homophobic chant aimed towards Tom Briscoe and try convince him.

Its easier to locate your south stand singing about us going down with our trawlers.

And to Gotcha, the best post you could have done would have been "yes i agree, theres no place for homophobia in the modern world, but on this occasion Zak has been found not to use such language"

So in effect you are still dodging the fact that homophobia is not acceptable.

Can you read? Where did he say it does have a place? Before you climb up your step ladders to get on your high horse, it is usually a good idea to check the grounding.

The problem with zealots is that they can only see a specific set of crimes and follow one agenda.

The point he was making is that there is no place in society for many things. Furthermore, that contrived hysteria over just one those misdemeanours is hypocrisy at best and laughable posturing at worst.

Personally, I do see any form of violence or intent to commit injury as being far worse than any other crime. However, that does not mean that the infringement of anybody's right to live peacefully is not important.

Has Hull ever moved on from the 1950's ?

I've been in the South Stand many many many times and I've never heard a trawler song. To be fair, how many Leeds fans know of a connection between Hull and trawlers ??

I have, but a very long time ago.

Definitely pre-SL era it was chanted - before or after singing "Get Your Fathers Gun..." - sometime circa late 70's or early 80's - ish.

"Sing When You're Mining" was also quite popular during the 80's Miners Strike when the mining communities were doing it really tough during Thatcher govts war against them. It was chanted loudly by southstanders particularly during the half time break in games against Castleford when their fans were walking past to change ends pitchside, as fans were allowed to do back then.

Always been classless have some southstanders and on a par with the thruppeny mob over at Hull.
