Dont get me wrong he's pulled off some master strokes as well Senior Ali Webb Ellis Kylie JP Cuthbo etc. I just think when you set a standard you should try to either stay in that ball park or not bother & back your youth. I know not all signings are top class but when you think we've had Poching Aiton Moon etc signed without having big reps or even when we first signed Kirke who was decent for 3years or so i still think we've signed players that are nowhere near Leeds standards

It’s a salary cap sport, sometimes you have to try and make good value signings. Without knowing what players were been paid it’s hard to saying whether or not they were a bad signing. I seem to recall Vickery for example paying his own airfare over and been on some kind of trial contract, he probably cost us next to nothing and was deemed an outside chance. Similarly with Wellington Albert, we picked him up out of administration when we were struggling with injuries, he’s simply a back up player.

Joking aside, I understand what you are saying but I really think it does GH a huge dis-service. Back in the Dougie Laughton days we had a belter of a squad on paper but we won FA. Big names and big money don't guarantee anything. Going with youth is fine in small numbers but can you imagine if we had gone with youth and got relegated!

GH and those involved in player recruitment have done a marvellous job over the last 20 years and I see the current squad as one with trophies in them both now and in the future.

Even the spend spend spend Douggie era theres was cheap signings to top the squad up. In the salary cap era you simply have to have them in your squad for depth.

Listening to the interview with Sinfield on YouTube, we'll be mainly giving the young players a chance.
We have some targets, but developing our own prospects will be the main focus.
