Rumoured to be going to St Helens.

Could he have done a job for us as a rotating hooker/backup half back rather than splashing the cash on an import?

I like Brough as a player but he comes across as someone who would upset the harmony of the dressing room.

Not sure why Saints would go for him to be honest. Maybe Longs last year but then we have Eastmond and Wheeler as well as Lomax coming through. He does offer a deep kicking game which is something that would benefit us though.

As I say just a rumour. Do you think the young lads are ready or do they need a couple more years?

I think brough would be an ideal replacement for Sean Long myself but I dont know how good the kids are. Then there's the 'current situation' thats ongoing. The one we arent allowed to discuss.

Barrie McDermott mentioned this on Boots 'N' All Online this week only not in so many words but his inference was unmissable.

It's had a shout out on here as well along with his 'Salford need to sniff the camel's back' comment.

I hope it happens although it doesn't say much for St Helens half back production line if it does.

Impressed with Wheeler from what I've seen and hes quite a big lad as well for a youngster, looks capable of handling it. To be honest if Pryce continues as a Saints player (which I think he will regardless) I see him taking the main role in the halves and a young 7 being used as an effective pivot, basically just a link between the forwards and Pryce. Then once they're more confident gradually taking a bigger role in the side.

Eastmond looks vulnerable although is a gem in the making IMO, unbelievably quick and confident. He has the biggest potential, possibly moved to FB in future.

I don't know what Saints will look to do with Lomax, Eastmond, Wheeler and Pryce. If they all come through the only options I see are Pryce going to LF or FB or selling off one or two of the talented kids.

In terms of Brough, I like him as a player and I think he'd be a lot more effective at a top side. However, I just don't see a role for him at Saints.

Pryce has never struck me as that type of player.
