He’s got one year, but Cas have an option to extend that to the end of 2021
My understanding is that the fee is an initial 150k and could rise to a maximum of 200k depending on appearances and other clauses.
Cas have paid 60k for Richardson.
It’s a deal that works for everyone I think.
From Leeds’ perspective, they get a player who they can name as a marquee player and discount anything about 75k on the salary cap, as he’s club-trained.
From Cas’ perspective, we get a good fee for a player who hasn’t played for two years. He’s given everything to the club over his time here - we won’t stand in his way of securing a final big contract, but we won’t be offering it ourselves given his injury record and the fact we don’t need to, as there is already an option for 2021.
From Gale’s perspective, it’s his last big contract you’d imagine. If he suffers an other serious injury, Cas won’t renew his contract beyond 2020 and his earning potential will be much lower. If he can sign for Leeds for a guaranteed income for three years, it’s a no brainer for him and his family.

Ashton Golding in advanced talks with Huddersfield Giants. Will command a fee.
Rumours of Myler to Hull KR, again will command a fee.

Nosey Parker with a strange one saying Ferres is going to Dewsbury.

Hopefully we will get a fee but I can see both going on a free to simply free up cap space.On Ferres i'm not bothered where he goes as long as he goes.

Interesting how active we seem in the transfer market.

Gale I can see coming, although we’d lack a little pace between him and Lui.

James Gavet could be a fit - replacement for Peteru or Cuthbertson?

It does look like we’re exploring some options actively. Maybe we are going to have a serious push next year after all.

Gale has still got to be a big risk with a transfer fee with how little rugby he’s played in the last 2 years.

Merrin and Hurrell are our marquees. Far as I know there's been no rule change that'd permit us a third.

Can’t we change that year on year, just nominate the two want to be marquees? I forget but isn’t there other bits and bats we get off for limbering trained at Leeds? Can’t remember

Yeah, as Ferdy says... teams arnt stuck with the same Marquees, they can nominate whichever 2 they want at the start of each season. If we sign somebody on a higher wage than hurrell, we can use the Marquee on that player instead and Hurrells full salary then counts on the cap.

Nottingham tigers right in that Gale would come with the added bonus of cap dispensation for being an England international and also for being club trained by us, if we then used the Marquee on him, he would count very little on the cap. Marquee or not, Gales dispensations are very handy for us...Should he sign!

Gales only good for us IF he is fit & can regain form otherwise he's another sicknote & SC we cant afford to have sitting the stands like KS other signings Ablett & Crosby.
