IMO I think that all of our England academy players need to be playing above academy level next season even though they still qualify to play at that level, in order to progress their careers

I can foresee that the majority of these players being sent out on either dual reg or even on a season's long loan deal depending on which club they go to.

Realistically speaking I would love to see our talented kids that won't get a game in the first team during 2019 ultimately go out on loan and play in the Championship if possible in order to get them ready for 2020/2021 onwards whilst playing against sides that will take them out of their comfort zone as being top dog at academy level.

For players like Harry Newman and Tom Holroyd I would like them to go to Fev on dual reg in order that they can also play some first team footy at the Rhinos too as they are the 2 most likely to get the chance in the first team in 2019 IMO

Thoughts guys

Fev worked quite well last year. Their new coach has experience in coaching academy players too I think? There is definitely a transition between props playing academy and running through smaller/weaker players, and getting to open age where they'll get put on their backsides sometimes. I'm not really sure why the Championship would better protect though - it's a very physical league with some big hard nuts running around.
Overall I'd say it's very much a case-by-case basis. I think Bailey and Ablett spent time in London early on - don't see that the Bradford stint did Cam Smith any favours at all though. Some players need a challenge to grow up a bit frankly; others do better in the Leeds environment right through.
Whatever they do decide with Holroyd, he is exactly the type of player we need coming through and I'd like to see him get a few first team appearances in 2019.

He knows Furner quite well and has said he'll be popping in to Rhinos training sessions regularly.

From Chev Walker (on the Our League commentary) who said that he himself was classed as 'the manchild' when he debuted as he was 100kg, but no where near the 122kg that Holroyd is.

Makes him bigger than the 6'9" Tyson Fury who weighed in at just under 117kg for the Wilder fight in that case. I have doubts regardless of Chev's take on it.

Interesting that Wire are happy to release Morgan Smith especially after they pyt so much ££££ into getting him there from our scholarship.
Pity they wasted so much time trying to turn him into a 9 when his huge potential was at 6.
Another to file under "grass wasnt greener at W@#ky" with Learmonth & Brooke Broughton.

The Burgess twins weigh 130kg.

Fury is just blubber though, which weighs less than muscle.

Plenty of envelopes from his "petrol monies" he can sell on if he needs a bob or two though.

Continues the great tradition of Warrington pilfering other teams youth players and completely ruining them.
