Makes you wonder doesn’t it that if the Bulls, Halifax and Keighley can run a reserve grade then it can’t cost that much. The Bulls also run 16s and 19s teams. Wigan do the same as some players don’t respond well to being farmed out on DR. Jordan Lilley certainly hasn’t. It’s inevitable that some players will fall by the wayside but I can’t help but think the lack of an open age reserve grade is depriving players of valuable game-time and leaving some players behind. I believe that you learn most aged 18-21 and you need to be playing every week, ideally in the same team so you can build understanding of teammates and coaches get to work with you. Chopping and changing teams and coaches isn’t offering any continuity. It’s like changing a kid’s school every month.
