[quote="The Eclipse"]Someone who I presume is from Wakey posted the game on Youtube, very impressed with some players coming through.
Does anyone know how Cas beat Leeds by such a big margin, are Cas that good ?

No Cas aren't that good i went to the game and questioned on an earlier post why Leeds picked such a weak side in one of their biggest game of the year? I know its about development and not the result but surely you pick your strongest team in the big games? The team V Wakefield was far stronger hence the result. Like the 19s when we pick our strongest team we blow sides away. Guess the coaching staff have to make sure everyone gets game time and its all about producing Academy/First team Players but for me in the big games you pick your strongest team.

Just watched the game, thanks for the heads up.

Thought Luka Atkinson was very good, played prop, played a lot of his rugby in the backrow.

Levi Edwards we all know about, but Morgan Gannon looks a very good backrower aswel, played in the halfs for siddal in the Yorkshire cup final when kai Morgan was injured so he's got some skill.

He’s a class above. Wigan have been watching him for years- but his ill discipline is an issue. Both on the pitch and off it.

I have not heard of any indiscretions regarding his off field behaviour so I don't know if this is a serious problem or not?
But if he does have problems with his discipline then lets hope that this off field behaviour doesn't hamper his RL career.

Surely with him being in such a good organisation like the Rhinos that the discipline required to be a top player will be made very clear to all of the junior and senior players, and that it will also be made fully aware to them all that if they do step over the line once too often that they will have to face the serious consequences that have been suffered previously by players at the club.

Cracking junior player though without a doubt and if he continues his progression through the academy ranks then he will surely be a future star

Up until last year I was a secondary school teacher- over the years I’ve known a few young lads with potential who have failed to make it as they just couldn’t behave and their clubs lost patience. One in particular had played for England schoolboys.

I could name a few that went that way unfortunately and in particular played at that rep level with the world at their feet and for it to be thrown away.

Even the best British RL player that I have ever seen in my life time finally learnt the errors of his ways and Ellery Hanley did pretty well once he did
Lets hope that these young kids realise their dreams rather than wrecking them

At this particular age group, yes Cas are that good. By way of balance they went into the Leeds game missing 3 starting players then lost 2 more players to concussion in the first half.

The understandable lure of signing for Leeds meant that they pulled in the best players from the best West Riding sides. Cas maybe cast their net a bit wider and signed players with massive potential from less successful clubs and also brought in the best half dozen players from Hull.

At full strength it would be a good contest but Cas would prevail pretty comfortably in the end, in my opinion.

Ha ha you have won a few games ...Next you will be saying that Cas value youth development and have produced a stream of players into their first team over the years  You have poached a complete side from Hull and ruined future relationships in your own community doing so. Consistently produce your own players for a number of years then you can troll on our forum

Firstly, I am certainly not a Castleford fan. I'm a Hull Kingston Rovers fan.

Secondly I am not a troll. I'm offering an opinion based on the fact I closely follow junior rugby and this age group in particular as I have friends with lads at Cas and COHA.

I attended the recent Cas Leeds game and am comfortable with my views and opinions.

Re: 2019 l Scholarship U16s : Wed Jun 19, 2019 12:52 pm
Community clubs starting to announce players who'v earned scholarships for nxt season. Looks like we'v signed 5 from Featherstone lions among our next intake.

Anyone know of any others we'r bringing in, from which community clubs and if theres any standouts among them? The Lock Lane team seem to be the cream of the crop in Yorkshire at that level.
